CDMA <-Ting-> GSM

Aside from the obvious question of coverage, is there any specific/technical reason why I might wish to switch my Nexus 5 (GooglePlay) from Ting CDMA to Ting GSM (GSM to CDMA). Let us assume equal network coverage. I'm a pretty technical person, so feel free to hit me with white-papers and the like. I'm just curious and Ting provides a unique experimental opportunity.

  • It mainly comes down to the comparative coverage of the two services. Some features, like International roaming, are not available on GSM.
    Some phones (but not the Nexus 5 yet) can use Wi-Fi calling on GSM.
