Lumia 640
Answered

Everything seems to work except for one problem:

I have full bars but when I have the connection set to LTE the bars change to no service and back to full bars every 10-20 seconds.. If i set the connection to 4G only it stops.

Of course.. Now that I am asking it has stopped. It happened all last night and this morning.

Perhaps it was just a tower issue near me.

  • Looks like changing everything to IPV4 fixes this issue.

  • Many people on many phones find the default IPv4/IPv6 setting does not work well. I just had to move my wife's phone to IPv4 because IPv6 had similar issues.

  • Joseph: I just picked up a Lumia 640, and I was having major Data issues.

One question: Did you set the Cellular connection profile to anything specific besides T-Mobile or was yours unlocked?

(Just tested mine and I found that setting it to MetroPCS works for me.)

Thanks for responding with the fix.

Off topic question: Do you get totally killer battery life with it? I'm averaging about 2 days between charges when I use it normally, light gaming and lots of messaging.

  • I followed Tings suggestion guide for Windows phone. But its a Tmobile 640.

I had great battery life with a 635 so can only assume I will again with this one.

  • Joseph: I'm getting great battery life also. I'm not on it frequently and it read's about 1/2 battery after two days.

  • We found that a number of devices didn't like the IPv4/v6 configuration as well, which is why we changed our APN set up into two different APNs. This is a great thing to try altering if you are having problems. To get the full effect remember to restart your device after the change.
