Only 1 charge when calling Ting-to-Ting

I would like to suggest to Ting that when you have 2+ phones registered on an account, calls between the phones should only get charged one per-minute charge. As it is now, each phone is billed equally for the minutes used.

This would be like other carriers' "in-network" allowance, and it would be a nice feature, and a way to generate loyalty.

  • Ting's partners charge for both sending & receiving calls.
Implementing 1 charge for Ting-to-Ting calling would result in hidden fees to cover the extra expense. This is against Ting's philosophy of no hidden fees.

  • I agree that Ting should restructure its charges so that calls/texts within an account aren't double charged. I find this the most annoying thing about Ting, really. That and the crazy-high data prices. I'm sticking with Ting for now, but I'm constantly checking out competing plans due to these two issues.

  • Hey Kuenley,

Thanks for the suggestion. This is definitely a common request, but not something we plan on implementing in the future. Since our billing model is built around the simple structure of paying for what you use, no hidden fees, and keeping things simple, there isn't a way for us to utilize this feature I'm afraid.

This video - directly from the mouth of a Ting Exec. - explains it best! :
