BLU Studio X Plus

Hi - I recently bought a BLU Studio X Plus and it works fine. However, a few days ago, it started scrolling "No Service" across the top randomly, even when there is a service and the phone and internet works. Its more annoying than anything else. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it? Thanks

  • Can you tell which sim is losing service? Is it consistently the one connected to data?

    My backup phone is a studio G. On both it and my main phone, the sim that's connected to data always has 1-2 fewer bars than the GSM only sim and always loses signal first in marginal areas. Whenever that happens, the data connection jumps to the other sim. I can still get internet, but at 2G speeds.

    I believe (I may be wrong) that dual sim phones have interference minimizing circuitry that either reduces the power to one sim or forces the Sims to connect to different antennae or towers. If that's the case, there's not much you can do, short of going back to 2 separate phones.

  • Thanks for this. I do have 2 SIM cards, an O2 (UK) SIM and a Tmobile (US) one. I have the O2 one live and the other dormant. When you open the phone to make a call or whatever, on the front screen on the top left, O2 appears and next to it "NO SERVICE" continually scrolls. However, when this happens, I always have full service. Its just Im not sure what "NO SERVICE" its referring to as I have full internet and phone signal. Weird.

  • Aha! now the full story comes out... you're not really using 2 Sims, only 1, and your phone is acting exactly as one would expect.

    Go into settings and turn off the o2 sim. Your phone will read "no service no service"
    Replace your ting sim with another o2 sim. Your phone will read "o2 o2"
    Come back to the US and turn on the Ting sim. Your phone will read "no service Ting"
