  • Ting - Visual Voicemail is a feature that brings voicemail out of the dark ages.  Please don't tarnish your brand by not offering it!!

  • Hey Wes.

For iPhones on the GSM network, there is no solution as of right now for Visual Voicemail but it's something that we definitely are working on. There is a 3rd party app called YouMail that a lot of customers have found success in using to get the ball rolling on this. We will be sure to let all of our customers know when this feature will be readily available for all iPhone users on the GSM network

  • Stunned that visual voicemail is not offered for GSM iPhone customers yet. Glad to hear it is being worked on, but it appears from browsing this forum it has been a highly requested feature since 2014. Is it happening?

  • We are closely focusing on this coming into the new year. A lot of changes will be happening when it comes to features offered on our network and iOS so keep your eyes peeled!

  • I second this initiative to get Visual Voicemail working on the GSM iPhone.( or third or fourth or fifth it ) since its seems to be expected.

It would also be nice if you supported Nomorobo  ( https://www.nomorobo.com) the winner of the contest to see who could best stop robocallers.

  • Yes please! I didn't realize I wouldn't have visual voicemail, and it's currently my biggest gripe with Ting. Everything else I am thrilled about, but having voicemail that isn't visual is very very frustrating to use, and feels very old timey.

  • Jamie, any update on the new features for IOS on the GSM network?  The first quarter of the new year is almost over.   Agree with others, having visual voicemail for IOS on the GSM network would be a key feature.  Although it can be accomplished with google voice/youmail and other 3rd party apps....they are an additional 3rd party app that is needs to be installed vice the built in phone IOS phone app.

I was a long time AT&T user (since original iPhone) that recently switched to Ting. I didn't even know Visual Voicemail was something that had to be offered. I was shocked when I pressed the voicemail button on the iPhone and it dialed out.

  • One more vote for adding visual voicemail. I know there are third party solutions but the one built into the OS works the best.

  • +1 My wife and I both ported over from ATT and are happy with most everything about Ting, EXCEPT for having to do a Google Voicemail workaround. Please add.

  • @John Healy, what did you have to do to make visual voicemail work?

  • It appears Ting recently updated their GSM IPHONE FAQ and other pages to indicate that both WIFI Calling and Visual voicemail is now available for Iphones running IOS 10.   I've not seen an official announcement though.

From the Ting GSM Iphone FAQ:

"Wi-Fi calling and visual voicemail are not currently available on GSM iOS devices running iOS 9 or older. These features should work on devices running iOS 10 and up."

    ---

If you are running IOS 10, suggest checking you received the latest 28.4 carrier update (settings, general, about).

  • It showed up for me as well. I got a carrier update yesterday, and today at some point my voicemail button turned into Visual Voicemail. Additionally, like David mentioned, I also now have the option for Wifi calls. yay!

  • Yep, visual Voicemail is there now as well for my GSM phone. I had to do a "Reset Network Settings" to restore it to default, but once I did Visual Voicemail is a go for me.

  • Hey guys, glad to hear you noticed the updates! For anyone else who hasn't been able to access visual voicemail or Wifi calling please make sure you're running at least iOS 10 or higher. For more details on our new features check out our GSM iPhone FAQ

  • Glad Ting finally got to this feature!  Thanks Ting!!

It appears that in order for these features to work now, you need to have iOS 10.3 or greater, and the Ting carrier settings of Ting 28.4.  My wife's iPhone is still using iOS 10.2.8 and she hasn't been able to update her carrier settings and get Visual Voicemail and Wifi Calling.  Another good reason to stay current with iOS updates!

  • @Andre Haroutounian I have an iPhone 7 (GSM) running iOS 10.3.2 (14F89) and Carrier settings Ting 28.4. I was able to turn on wi-fi calling, but I don't have the option for visual voicemail. I tried resetting the network settings, but no luck. Is there something else I need to do to enable visual voicemail?

  • Hey folks, as John mentioned we do have visual voicemail up and running on GSM iPhones. If you're running the latest version of IOS and it's still not working you may need to have your voicemail settings reset altogether. For help with that please reach out to support (https://ting.com/support) so we can help get things sorted.
