Waive single Text charges

Customer's cannot control incoming texts. $3 for one incoming text while the phone is off seems a bit steep. Could we think about this like we do the 1MB data?

  • Perhaps have a window of 0-10 texts put you in a "free" category? Extending the idea to minutes, how about the first 10 minutes are free, too?

  • This kind of problem would also be solved if Ting allowed usage to roll-over once one has purchased a bucket of minutes/messages/megs.   We do only a few texts/month, so our cost/per text is somewhat silly.

  • Your suggestion Rich is one we've heard before regarding roll over.

    TL;DR - We're always evaluating the competitive landscape and we are not afraid to make changes if we need to. Our pricing structure is definitely different and not exactly common in the industry. In terms of looking at your bill as cost per text, I think our CEO sums it neatly. In the end, what's most important to us is that you're saving money and are happy with your service.
