This doesn't appear to be correct anymore. Why did Ting stop allowing us to order sims?
With the launch of our third nationwide network, we thought it was about time to help our customers get the right SIM card the first time. When SIMs were freely orderable, there was a LOT of volume of customers ordering the wrong SIM card (meaning to order an X1 when they ordered a CDMA SIM, or ordering the wrong model.
In an effort to combat that (sending out the wrong SIM card is expensive!) we adopted this new model where https://ting.com/byod automatically selects the right SIM based on your phone's IMEI, your phone number and adds it to your cart. Just put the IMEI you want to activate into https://ting.com/byod and it'll select the right SIM the first time1
So how do we order an additional sim card -- for the same phone?
Hi Gregory, If you are an existing customer and looking for a SIM card for your phone we'll need to send you one through our customer service right now. We'll be able to make sure you get the right one for the network that works best for you this way. Feel free to email, give us a call or online chat one of our representatives and they will be able to give a hand. In the future, we do plan on having options to purchase the SIMs by yourself but for now, existing customers will need to reach out to us.
