The other carriers waive this charge but recover it in higher fees. Because Ting's rates are low, there will be, of necessity, fewer "bells and whistles" that camouflage the other carriers' rates. It's more than likely that, even with "free" mobile-to-mobile minutes, you'd pay significantly more with another carrier. Same with messages as well.

I agree with Stuart.
The Ting philosophy is to avoid hidden fees. Since Ting's partners charge them for mobile-to-mobile (both incoming & outgoing), Ting charges us.
