"Something appears to be wrong" message

Got a prompt  to Log into Sprint today, followed by the message below (basically linking to https://ting.com/ops/datapause)

"Something appears to be wrong.

There may have been an unexpected problem with your service, or we may have disabled it to protect you from a potentially shocking bill.

Please give us a call at 1-855-846-4389 or send us an email to help@ting.com so we can help."

It went away after reboot of the phone, then popped once more and went away. Something going on with the network?

  • Hi Igor,

There is an issue with the network today that we are working with Sprint on fixing. We have it up on our status page at the moment but have found that doing a profile update on your device has fixed the issue.

To do a profile and PRL update:

Android: Settings > About > System Updates > Update Profile
iPhone: In your dial pad, call ##UPDATE# (##873283#)

Give those a quick try and if it doesn't fix it keep an eye out on our status page for when the issue has been resolved.

I apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to have this issue resolved as soon as possible.

  • Did PRL update, rebooted a few times and still seeing this pop up every once  in a while. Oddly enough other people with Ting phone are not seeing that

  • It is only happening on our CDMA network so some Ting users are not being affected by this issue. It is still going on but we've found that some users are able to use certain apps still even with this data error.

We'll hopefully have an update soon to let everyone know that the issue is fixed. Thank you again for all your patience.

  • Hi Igor,

The issue should be resolved now. If you close out any windows that you had open for surfing and restart your phone it should work like normal again.

Thanks for all your patience today, we appreciate it immensely!
