Where is my sim pin ?

Hello Tingerz !

For Security reasons I would like to add an unlock pin to my android.

But it looks like I needs the original sim pin, where do I find it ?

If I get this number wrong too many times it will perma-lock.

Thanks

  • Hi,

That code would have been on your original SIM card package that was sent to you, the credit card size plastic that you would have got the SIM card out of. If you still have the card it will be there under the PUK code. If you don't have the card it becomes a little tougher depending on the network that you are on. Give us a call if you do not still have the card and we can take a look and see if you have a SIM we can get a PUK code for.

  • Hmmmmm how many digits is the sim pin all I see on the card is a barcode then a LONG string of numbers I'll assume this is the PUK code.

  • The long series of numbers is your SIM card serial number, or ICCID. It is not your SIM PIN.

The PUK code is usually in the top corner as shown here:

If your phone is asking for a SIM PIN, that isn't something that is on your SIM card cutout. Your SIM PIN would have been set on your phone. By default, the SIM PIN is usually just 1234 or 0000.

  • Ok, thanks.

To be clear though, the card that the sim came on only has the SIM card serial number, or ICCID.

No Sim pin and no PUK.

If I make mistakes with the sim pin will my chances reset when the phone is shut off ?

I gotta get this right !
