Lied to by Ting

I recently decided to give Ting a try and so I gave Ting a call to verify if they had service in my area of Durham NC.  I did this twice just to make sure I would receive services before they sent out the SIM card and I was assured both times I would have no issues.  When I received my SIM card and installed it i was having network connection issues and after 2 hours of trying to figure it out I contact TING customer service.  Within 2 minutes the rep was able to tell me exactly what my problem was.

I was then informed they had NO coverage in my area.  Needless to say I was very upset.  I had just canceled my phone contract with my previous carrier and here i was being told by Ting that there was nothing they could do or would do and they were sorry about the mix up.  At this point I felt it would be good to post here so others do not have the same problem.  I would doubly make sure Ting is not misleading you before switching services.

    Hey Eric,

We want to apologize for the mislead information and the inconvenience we have caused you. This is not a reflection of who we are as a mobile service. One of our top priorities is making sure that we can provide you with reliable Nationwide LTE coverage, and if we are unable to do so then we would not recommend our service.

We appreciate you sharing your experience with us, and we will provide coaching for our representatives to ensure that this does not happen in the future.
