Moto G4 Plus battery/performance issue

I've had a Moto G4 Plus for two years or so and love it, using it far more (e-mail, twitter, watch movies, read books, no phone calls or texts) than my previous smaller screen smartphone (bought used, still works OK). The past few weeks, the G4 battery has died unexpectedly overnight when it wasn't plugged in for a few hours. I usually keep it plugged in when at home. Also, when I mistakenly entered the password, the phone went crazy, continually repeating two digits and it being hard to turn off. When I did, it reawakened OK. I understand that the battery isn't replaceable but can this be done? Is it time for a new phone? My flip-phone, which I use for paging and occasional phone calls, has lasted perhaps 10 years with the same battery..

Hey Stanley,

Given my experience with Moto G4 batter issues. I have some success with few battery saving tricks.

Reducing Brightness

-If the automatic brightness feature is on in your Moto G4 device, this is a strong reason to drain the excessive amount of battery, thus, the Moto G4 battery life issue may appear. Go to Settings, turn off the Automatic brightness feature and set it to a lower level which will no doubt have good impact on the battery life.

Turning off Locational Services

-While it might be a bit difficult to turn off location service entirely, the best advice is to turn on the power saving mode and onboard device GPS which will extend the battery life as well as will help you with location information in need.

Closing Background Apps

-Too many apps running in the background is another reason why Moto G4 battery drains fast There are some apps that just start running as soon as the device is switched on. So, check what the unnecessary apps are running in the background, close them and also the unused apps are better to remove from the handset.

Updating Your Phone

-A software update helps the phone run smoothly which automatically reduce the strain on the device’s battery and thus solves many issues like poor battery life, overheating etc. So, check if there any recent updates available and then upgrade your device to the latest version available.
