Lost sim card in phone

I have a galaxy s7 I purchased recently and when I was attempting to transfer my sim card from my old phone to this phone I messed up putting it on the tray and the sim card kind of just jammed in there. It works but I am not able to put an SD card in (same slot). I'm on the tmobile network. Would they be able to open up the phone for me to retrieve the sim card? I love ting but my only issue is not being able to quickly go to a brick and mortar location for dumb stuff like this (dumb on my part I mean). Any advice would be helpful.

  • Hey Daniel,

These things happen and funny enough we have a promo on currently that could help cover the cost of the repair/service required to extract the SIM. We'd suggest taking the phone to a local shop certified for repairs and having them take care of it. You can submit for the promo at our landing page and have a look at the details on our blog post

  • Right, the promo Christian was talking about was for adding a line. But if you're not looking to do that, and as long as it's just set in the slot and the SIM pins haven't been damaged, most repair shops should be able to do this pretty quickly for a nominal fee. When I did service and repair for Sprint, this kind of thing took a bit of time on the S7 (the glass back usually has to come off), it usually wasn't too bad of a turnaround time.

  • Hi Belinda,

There's nothing we can do on our end when a phone is lost. If you are unable to find the phone you may want to look at what to do next with the lost or stolen guide we have in our knowledge base. I'll link you to the article here.
