I want to cancel my account and it seems impossible....

I find the info How to cancel your account.. I take that link and I get a page that says I don't have permission to access that page!! It just keeps taking me around in circles. I even emailed them and got a generic response, so...I guess if I just don't change over to Ting, I should be canceled, no? yes?

  • Hey Rose,

If you're a former FreedomPop CDMA customer, we will just eventually cancel your line if you do nothing. But you should be able to proactively cancel by putting your FreedomPop email address and phone number into ting.com/freedompop -- it takes all of about 20 seconds.

If that's the page you're having trouble with, let me know and I'll have our team investigate it for you.

  • I am so glad to see someone response to the problem. I am a former FreedomPop customer and I migrated to Ting a few days ago. I Kept one phone and deactivated another one that I no longer use but I was charged two device after I did the deactivation. I email the support team but waited and waited, no one answers me back. Could someone here help? I had an impression Ting doesn't care about me once I migrated successfully.

  • Hi Amy,

We wouldn't be able to help here on a public forum since we would need some account details that can't be posted. I apologize for the long wait time for response to your email request. Our team is working as fast as possible to get back to everyone but we are behind due to the volume of requests that we are getting at the moment. When one of our team members does respond you will be able to investigate the second line fee being brought to your account for you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work to help everyone get from FreedomPop to Ting.

  • Hey Rose,

I had a look at our records from Freedom Pop and your line shows as migrated so you can head to our migration page to start that port out if you would like.

You're always welcome back but by no means would we force you to activate with Ting.

  • Thanks for the replies! I'm the original poster, Rose, and I just wanted to cancel my FreedomPop acct because the phone I use for that acct is no longer working. I don't want to use it for Ting. I got another phone with another number.

Anyway, FreedomPop has been wonderful, and I wish for all of you, that Ting is the same. Who knows, I might be back someday!  ;)
