Are you ever going to finish crunching my data?

i have five Freedompop accounts. Only one has been “crunched” and the other four are just stuck waiting for “a few hours” to crunch the data. It has been over a week and I’m getting worn down.

Are you ever ever going to get to this?  I want to believe you when you say it is just a few hours but this is just going on and on and I haven’t have phone service for over a week.

I’ve mailed freedompop@ting.com I’ve phoned. I’ve even tried to go throug Freedompop. Somehow they were able to get me a port out pin on one phone so I could at least take one line out to another provider and get service.

Please help.

  • Hey Carl,

With so many lines moving over it is going to take time but Freedom Pop should have provided you with an account number and port out PIN for each line if you do want to port out.

To migrate to Ting you will need to wait for confirmation that lines are ready and you will receive an email once that is the case.

  • You know what is really odd?  For one of my accounts Freedompop sent me an email with port out information. But for the other four accounts, nothing. Also, I can log in to my FP account and still see my plan and port out info for that one account. But my other four accounts are cleared out with no plan or porting info. This is how inconsistent FP is so I figure that is what you are struggling with. They probably are very disorganized.

I wish they’d provided more porting info but I’m basically forced to wait for you guys at Ting to take up my account and crunch my data so to speak.

What I am worried about is that this is never going to happen.

  • It's hard to say what the issue is with Freedom Pop but you should have been provided port out information already for any lines migrating to Ting, or please reach out to FreedomPop@Ting.com for any questions about which lines have/have not migrated.

  • Yeah, I have emailed there and nobody answers. It’s okay, I get it, you’re in firefighter mode right now. I’ll sit tight another day but I think I need to bite the bullet and just get an entirely new number and plan.

What im worried about is Freedompop somehow corrupted their database with my other phones and that they will never migrate.

As you said, I should have gotten porting info but I didn’t. I did get it with one phone out of the five so that tells me they are just really messed up over there. I’ve tried calling Freedompop but they don’t respond.

I guess it’ll just be easier to change numbers and tell everyone I have a new number. I only have like three friends. :(

  • I'll email you to see if I can help confirm our records match an see if we can confirm all of the numbers can/will or have migrated to Ting.

  • Christian thanks for emailing. I really didn’t understand your response that my phones are voip. The are iPhone 4s with sprint cdma sims. I do believe the FP calling is done over voip through their app. Anyhow I don’t know how to port these placeholder numbers which are my phone numbers. I’m more confused now.

Do I keep waiting or should I just start over with new numbers?
