Ting is not an authorized Google dealer for Pixel phones - No Google warranty

I bought a new Pixel XL from Ting almost eight months ago.  After a while, I switched to another carrier.  Eventually the speaker stopped working on the phone.  I contacted Google and was told that Ting is not an authorized dealer of Pixel phones, so it is not warranted by Google.  The Ting web site says that they warrant new phones for a year.  I called Ting but was told that they will not cover the phone because it had been switched to another carrier.  I asked if reactivating the phone on Ting would allow it to be covered and they said no.  Buying a new phone from Ting turned out to be a mistake for me.

  • Hey Alan,

I believe there was a bit of confusion on this, and I'd like to offer to step in and help clear it up. I'm going to have someone on my team reach out to you via email and get this resolved for you, so please be on the lookout for that.

  • Update:  I was contacted by Ting and told that they were mistaken and that they could offer me a replacement under the warranty.

  • Thanks for updating this post, Alan. This could have fallen through the cracks and we wouldn't have had a chance to provide feedback to the first support agent you talked which I do apologize for the miscommunication that happened with them.

If there is ever any other issues please feel free to reach out to us here again and we would be happy to investigate for you.
