Google Pixel android 10 when?

I have a Google pixel 3 and android 10 was released September 4 but I checked settings and the update is not showing up for me. Is it up to Ting, T-Mobile, or sprint to send the update to my phone? When I checked my phone information it says my network is Ting but my carrier is T-Mobile. If I'm waiting on them, any idea when they will deliver android 10?

  • Hi Terence,

Software updates are pushed to the network from our network partners, in your case T-mobile. I took a look online and some people have reported getting it while others are still waiting so there might be a delay as they roll it out. It should be available sooner rather than later so I would suggest continuing to check for the software updates or turn automatic updates on.

  • I was able to get it yesterday by going into settings and checking for an upgrade manually. Worked fine on my gen 1 Pixel XL, although network now says T-mobile instead of Ting, but, eh, it still works.

  • Yep. Early reports are of everyone on the T-Mobile network losing their custom network flavor text, but everything else seems to be functional so far on mine!

  • I'm happy to report my android 10 update finally arrived on my Google pixel 3 around 10 PM EST. A day late but that's really not bad. I was worried I was in some waiting line of thousands of users and it would take weeks or months before my turn. I'm so glad my concern is over and now I have that sweet dark mode and navigation features amongst other useful things that came with android 10 update. Great stuff

  • THe killer feature for me so far is the battery estimation once you drop the notification shade. That used to only be there in low battery mode.
