OnePlus 6 A6000 International Unlocked

I'm considering buying a OnePlus 6 A6000 version to replace my OnePlus 3t that is failing.  According to the frequencies it looks like it should work on Ting's GSM network, but I didn't want to drop the cash on one until I knew for sure.  It looks like the A6003 version is confirmed to work but I haven't seen anyone talking specifically about the A6000. Anyone have any idea?

  • Hi Joshua,

As far as I can tell by scanning those specs online it will indeed have access to 2G and LTE bands 2/4/12 which is a good start but as an International model it is not going to have access to VoLTE on our GSM network so you may experience less than optimal call quality.

Its also worth noting that Ting will be dropping our current GSM network so we do suggest purchasing a factory unlocked device that could work with our CDMA network or the new network provider we will be bringing on. If you'd like some help sourcing a device like that I definitely suggest working with our Personal shopper team as they can help point you in the right direction either via our shop (Black Friday is coming!) or 3rd party vendors depending on your price range and desired features.

  • To be honest no CDMA carriers work in our location, so lack of GSM coverage would force us off of Ting regardless. What is the timeline for GSM support ending so we can try to find another carrier to work with?

  • You'll have until December 2020 to make arrangements and we will be pro-actively contacting affected subscribers to help swap networks or port out where necessary so no need to worry about being caught by surprise.
