Exceeding limits

For the last two months, my child has managed to exceed his usages caps - significantly  - like 600 minutes over his voice minutes and 4000 texts over his cap. The rule was set to disable his services until the next billing cycles. Obviously this didn’t happen, boosting my monthly bill by $20 each time. How was this possible?

  • Hey Lisa,

I took a quick look at the account, and there are two different things going on with limits on your account. One is account-specific and I can't discuss it here in a public forum. If you email help@ting.com and reply here once you've done that, I'll pick up your help request and go into account-specific details.

The other issue has to do with when we put limits in place. We will not interrupt an active voice or data session to install a limit. For example, if you have a limit set of 100 talk minutes and at minute 87 you start a 20-minute call, we'll put the limit on as soon as the call ends, at minute 107.

I look forward to your email so I can discuss the other limit issue on your account, as well as work towards some resolutions.
