Home phone connect option

Hi,

I have an old Straight Talk home phone connect and want to continue to have a separate phone number for home to use with the cordless phones..  I can not port it to Ting so I am looking for an option to use on the CDMA or GSM side of Ting hooked up to our cordless phones.

Thanks

  • You can use the Sprint Home Phone connect like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sprint-Phone-Connect-3-Wireless-Home-Phone-Model-HUAF255SPC/303386330933?epid=2256034492&hash=item46a33c0735:g:6e0AAOSwn~td4~~K

You'll have to ask the seller of that or a similar auction to run the IMEI at ting.com/byod first to make sure it's clear to activate, but then it just plus into your cordless phone system and uses the cellular network.

Similar options exist for the GSM side, but I haven't found one that supports VoLTE, which is fast becoming a requirement on our GSM network.

  • Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.  With the pending merger of Sprint and Tmobile and the eventual shut down of CDMA do you believe this device will be continue to work with the network for a couple of more years?

  • Even if the network providers do merge, it's a long time before the new company will be able to shut down any networks. They'll probably exist alongside each other for a few years post-merger with plans to migrate everyone off well before the network itself gets shut down.
