I can only send and receive group texts and photos using data. With my previous Samsung Galaxy S3, I was able to receive group test messages and photos using WIFI. When I switched to the Samsung Galaxy S9, I can't send or receive group texts or photos with WIFI. My monthly bill is sky high. How do I change this?

Hi Nanette,
Standard MMS does require cellular data so I'd suggest using a 3rd party messaging app like Whatsapp to be able to send and receive those messages using your Wi-Fi connection.
I just switched from a S7 to a S20FE...I am having the same issue. I was always able to send images and group texts with wifi...never needed to turn on mobile data. Now with the S20, I have to use data. Is this a Ting issue, Samsung issue, hardware, software???
I have a phone that was on Verizon. Although mobile data would be turned off, the settings in the phone allow access by messaging when it is off so it uses the mobile data but leaves the setting OFF so I don't use my data plan accidentally because it was left on.
With Ting, that does NOT WORK. Ting requires that Mobile Data be manually turned on or left on for any MMS (images and group ) texts. Minus one for Ting.
