I currently have an iPhone se 2020 on the v1 network. Is there another type of SIM card I could use? My issue is I would like to use the phone internationally and V1 only does that for Canada and Mexico. I will be getting an Esim for data and will generally be using WiFi for calls but I would like to get texts in particular to my number for things like two factor authorization.
Another question, that I suspect I’m going to have call about is that when I attempt to activate international roaming it just doesn’t “stick”. My understanding is that I would have to do that if I wanted to use the phone in Canada for example. The option is there, the pop up comes up and I can change and it says “saving” but it doesn’t appear to.
Thanks

Hi Jennifer ! If you are wanting to internationally roam in countries aside from Mexico and Canada, you will need to use an X3 SIM card on the T mobile network, our live support representatives can assist you in determining your account and device eligibility to switch over. I would also recommend reaching out to our support regarding being unable to turn on roaming.
So someone is sending me an X3 card (thank you Jennifer) but now I’m wondering about how I go about swapping it. Well obviously not the actual swap, but how to a move my number over to this new sim on the same phone. I’ve obviously moved numbers to entirely different phones so do I do it like that? Or is there another process?
Please reach out to our live support representatives in order to get the port submit to move your number to the new SIM card.
I’m assuming I would be better calling than using the chat line?
