If you’ve recently transferred your number to Ting, switched to an eSIM, or activated a new number on an eSIM, you’ll need to complete the setup on your device once your number is active with Ting.
Setting up your eSIM is simple. We'll email you the activation details and you can choose one of two options:
- Scan the QR code: Just scan it with your device to process the setup.
- Manually enter the activation details: Follow the steps provided in our email to enter the details into your device.
- If you are using an iPhone, the eSIM information should download automatically. If there are any issues, you can scan the QR or manually add the eSIM information.
Find your QR code.
Look for the email we sent with your QR code after completing your Ting activation. The email is sent to your Ting account email.
Scanning the QR code using your device camera
- Open your QR code on any separate screen for scanning.
- Open the camera app on the device you’re activating.
- Point the camera at the QR code.
- Wait for a prompt to appear with a link or installation option.
- Tap the link and follow the steps to complete the installation.
Tips for scanning
- Ensure you are in good lighting.
- Clean your phone’s camera lens.
- If scanning fails, try Google Lens.
How to scan a QR code using Google lens
If the QR code is on your phone:
- Take a screenshot of the QR code:
- Android: Press the Power and Volume down buttons together.
- iPhone: Quickly press and release the Side and Volume up buttons together.
- Open the Google Lens app.
- Tap the camera icon in the search bar to open Google Lens.
- Select the screenshot of your QR code from your gallery.
- Follow the prompts to complete the activation.
