When activating your new Ting SIM card, you have a couple of options. You can transfer a number from another carrier, activate a new number with Ting, or transfer an existing Ting number.
If you are activating a new number with Ting, or transferring a number over, you’ll need a few things:
If you would like to purchase a new compatible device, you can visit our Ting shop.
If you need a new SIM, you can contact our Mobile team, and we will be happy to send one free of charge.
Whether you are activating a new phone number on Ting or transferring a number, contact our Mobile team for assistance in getting the process started.
We will need information to transfer your number to Ting. The information requested will be what your current carrier has on file for your number:
Ports can take up to 24 hours to complete, but in some instances, such as a landline or VoIP provider, they can take up to 24 hours.
While waiting for your port to complete, your old carrier’s SIM will continue to work. Once that SIM loses service, you can swap to your new Ting SIM card.
When you are ready to activate a new number, contact our Mobile team and let them know you would like to activate with a new number. We will assist you in getting a new number that is local to your current service area.
When you want to transfer your Ting service from one SIM card to another, contact our Mobile team. They can help you complete the process.
If you want to activate a new device with your existing SIM card, you can swap your current SIM to your new device to resume services.
