Directory Listing in Ting Voice

Important things to knowAdd or update your listingPrivacy and listing options
What is a directory listing?

A directory listing shares your Ting Voice phone number with local publishers so it can appear in places such as:

  • Directory assistance (411).
  • Local phone books.
  • Other public directories that request listings.

⚠️ This feature is in limited release. Ting Voice is only available to a small group of participants.

Important things to know

We can’t guarantee your listing will be published.

Some publishers are phasing out printed directories or no longer request new listings.

Ting doesn’t control what gets published.

We can’t influence where or how your info appears or if it appears at all.

Want to be sure you’re listed?

You may need to reach out to the publisher directly. In some cases, setting up an account with them helps.

It’s optional.

If you’d rather keep your number private, that’s totally fine. You’re in control.

Add or update your listing

If you'd like to set up or change a directory listing, contact us.

We'll ask for:

  • The phone number(s) you want listed.
  • The name and/or business name to list.
  • The address (if you'd like it included).
  • Your preferred privacy setting.

Phone listings are usually organized by area code (the first three digits of your number) or ZIP code. When you request a listing update, we pass your info along to the directory service.

From there, it’s in their hands. The directory service manages the database and publishes updates.

Privacy and listing options

You have a few options when it comes to how your phone number is listed:

List in 411

‍Your number will be listed in directory assistance and published in the printed phone book.

List in 411 only

Your number will show up in directory assistance but won’t appear in the phone book.

Stay private

Your number won’t be listed anywhere–not with 411 or the phone book.

Address Preference

You can also choose whether or not to include your street address in any listing.
