Setting up Domain Redirection (URL Forwarding)

In this article
Setting Up a Domain to Forward

Creating a domain redirection allows you to forward visitors from your domain to any other web address.

‍

Attention

Your domain will need to use Ting Domain's nameservers pointing to our default IP address for the forwarding tool to function. If you are using external nameservers with your domain, you will want to create your redirection through the service controlling those third-party nameservers.

Setting Up a Domain to Forward

Step 1

Login to your Ting Domain account with your username and password at tingdomains.com/site/login

‍

Step 2

From the Your Domains page, select the Manage link to the right of the domain you wish to add redirection to.

Step 3

Select Nameservers & DNS from the domain management menu on the left.

‍

Step 4

Under the Nameservers section, confirm that your domain is using Ting's default nameservers (a.ns.shopco.com, b.ns.shopco.com, c.ns.shopco.com) with Ting's default A record IP address of 64.96.1.1.

Click on the +Add forwarding button near the bottom of the page when ready.

Step 5

Select your Domain from the drop-down. Enter the URL of the website that you wish to forward your domain name to in the Destination text box.

Step 6

Click the Save button to finish adding the forward settings.

‍

Step 7

Under the Domain Forwarding section of the Nameservers & DNS page, you will now see the redirection you've set up on your domain.

Note

Your redirect will work immediately! When visitors enter your domain name into a browser address bar, it will automatically take them to the destination URL you designated.
