Moving your domain name to Ting is simple and straightforward. We've streamlined the process to accommodate the diverse rules and regulations of different domain registries. Whether you have a generic domain (like .com or .org) or a country-specific one (such as .us or .io), our platform ensures a smooth and easy transfer.
To transfer your domain successfully, you need to meet these requirements:
The transfer will add one year to your domain registration. This extra year is included in the transfer fee.
Domain transfers are initiated by the receiving registrar, so once your domain is ready to be transferred to us, we’ll handle most of the process for you.
Here are three simple steps to make sure your domain is ready to be transferred:
Go to tingdomains.com/site/login and click the Already have a domain? Transfer it now link below the search bar.
Enter your domain name in the text field.
On the Transfer Review screen, you'll see if your domain needs unlocking or if there's any reason it's not ready for transfer. If you've just unlocked your domain, give it a moment to update—use the refresh link to check the latest status.
In the Authorization Code section, enter your transfer auth code and click Add to cart.
Complete your purchase.
The domain's administrative contact receives an email with a unique link to the OpenSRS transfer approval page. There, they can approve or decline the transfer.
If the administrative contact doesn’t approve or decline the transfer request within seven days, the order is automatically canceled. All parties—including the administrative contact and both registrars—are notified.
The current registrar has five days to approve or decline the request. If they don't act, the request is automatically approved after five days.
Once approved, no further action is needed—your domain transfer will complete automatically.
Transfer times vary based on registry rules. While it can be as quick as four hours, it typically takes about a day. After that, you'll see updated WHOIS provider information and can manage your domain from your Ting Domain account.
