This page explains all about your Ting mobile bill.
Bill payment with Ting is monthly and entirely automated.
Payment methods: Ting accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover.
Frequency: Your payment will be processed every month within a few days of your billing date.
Mobile is Postpaid, Internet is Prepaid
Ting Internet service is paid in advance, while mobile service is paid after use. But both will show on one bill. You'll only notice a difference if you add Internet service to your mobile account on a different day than your billing date.
For example
An existing mobile customer whose billing date is the 15th of the month adds Internet service on the 5th of the month.
Billed on the 5th: Installation fee and prorated bill to cover Internet service until the 15th.
Billed on the 15th: Internet service for the next billing cycle and mobile service for the billing cycle just ended.
Billing Dates
If your first service with Ting is mobile service, your billing date is set when your first device is activated.
If you're porting a number, your billing cycle begins on the day your port is completed.
All subsequent devices added to your account will join that same pay period regardless of when they are activated.
You will be charged 2-5 days after your billing cycle. Once your payment method is charged, we will email you a confirmation.
Online Billing
Ting bills are exclusively online and we do not send out bills by mail.
Downloading your bill: You can get a PDF of your bill in the Billing section of your account online.
Mobile Usage: Check your mobile usage throughout the month on the Your account (Dashboard) page.
Billing history
Click a bill in the Billing history section to see it. Your mobile bill will show:
Usage: Any applicable mobile usage for the last month.
Payment and Credits: Your payments and any credits used.
Note
Your monthly usage and payment will appear as two separate line items.
If you have any credits, they will also appear separately, and we'll use them before billing your card.
Surcharges: Surcharges for international calls, directory assistance, or anything that falls outside the standard, billable usage.
Taxes and regulatory fees.
CPUC regulatory requirements details: Limited to customers with a Californian billing address.
Sorting: You can sort the Billing history page by monthly usage, payments, purchases, refunds/credits, or other criteria.
Internet section
The Internet section of your bill will show:
Your upcoming bill: Since internet billing is prepaid, you’ll see the bill for your next billing cycle.
Taxes, if applicable: Very few states levy taxes on Internet usage, so it's likely that you won't see any taxes on your bill unless you have mobile service with Ting.
Billing confirmation
After we charge your bill to your saved payment method, we will email you like the example below.
Payment Issues
If your payment doesn't go through, you'll get an email and a text message. We'll send the email to the address on your Ting account and the text message to your primary Ting number. If you don't have a primary number, we'll send the message to the phone number that's been active the longest.
You won't lose your subscription right away. We'll keep trying to take the payment for a few days. You can update or change your payment details at any time in your control panel by signing into your Ting account and selecting the Billing section under your Account settings.
Taxes and Fees
We do not charge any unnecessary extra fees, but we are required to collect taxes and regulatory fees mandated by federal, state, and local governments.
These fees differ by location, may change, and are more prevalent for mobile services. Most states do not heavily tax internet services, except for a few cents on installation. Your bill will itemize these fees and taxes and provide explanations. Simply hover over the item in the list for details.
