Stay connected, even when you can’t answer

Ting offers two voicemail options to keep you in the loop:

  • Basic voicemail: Dial into your inbox to listen to messages.
  • Visual voicemail: See and select messages from a list for easier access.

To set up visual voicemail, start with regular voicemail. Then, check out our Visual Voicemail guide for step-by-step instructions.

Important note about voicemail

If you switch carriers, change SIM cards, or turn off voicemail in your Ting account, all your voicemails will be deleted. Unfortunately, deleted voicemails cannot be restored.

Enabling voicemail on your Ting account

Once your Ting SIM card is activated, voicemail is ready to use. If you’re having trouble, follow these steps to ensure voicemail is enabled:

  1. Log in to your Ting account.
  2. Select Device settings from the menu on the left.
  3. Click on the phone number for which you’d like to enable voicemail.
  4. Scroll to the Minutes section and click the pencil icon to edit.
  5. Toggle Can use voicemail to On, then choose your voicemail type.
  6. Click Save.

Setting up your voicemail inbox

The first time you access voicemail, you’ll set up a password, greeting, and security settings.

  1. Press and hold 1 or dial *86 to access your voicemail inbox.
  2. If prompted for a password, enter the last four digits of your phone number, then press #.
  3. Follow the instructions to:
    • Create a new password.
    • Record your voicemail greeting.
    • Adjust voicemail security settings.

Accessing your voicemail

After setup, you can check your messages using any of these methods:

  • Press and hold 1 on your phone’s dial pad.
  • Dial your phone number.
  • Dial *86.

Accessing voicemail from another phone

You can access your Ting voicemail inbox from another phone:

  1. Call your own phone number.
  2. When your voicemail greeting plays, press *.
  3. Enter your voicemail password when prompted.
  4. Listen to your messages.

Using voicemail prompts
