Find your phoneSuspend your line

Losing your phone is stressful, but quick action can make all the difference in securing your device and protecting your data. Follow these steps to take control of the situation and safeguard your personal information. Here's what you need to know.

Find your phone

Most smartphones have built-in location tracking features like Find My Device (Android) or Find My iPhone (Apple). These tools can help you locate, lock, or erase your device remotely.

Android

  1. Visit Find My Device on a browser.
  2. Sign in with the Google account linked to your phone.
  3. Follow the prompts, such as entering your phone unlock PIN.
  4. A map will show your phone’s location or its last known spot.
  5. You can make your phone ring, lock it, or perform a factory reset. Only reset your phone if you’re certain it’s unrecoverable.

iPhones

  1. Go to Find My iPhone.
  2. Log in with your Apple ID.
  3. Select Find iPhone.
  4. Use the map to locate your device or see its last known location.
  5. Options include playing a sound, locking your phone, or erasing it. Locking is recommended if you can’t retrieve it. Erase only if recovery is impossible.

Suspend your line

If locating your phone isn’t possible, suspending your line can prevent others from using your number. Keep in mind, suspending your number doesn’t disable the phone itself—it only affects the Ting SIM.

How to suspend your number

1. Log in to your Ting account.

2. Navigate to Device Settings.

3. Select the number you want to suspend.

4. Click the pencil icon next to Status.

5. Choose Suspend this device from the drop-down menu.

6. Confirm by clicking Suspend.
