What is activation lock?

Activation Lock is a security feature that prevents unauthorized access to your phone if it’s lost or stolen. Before returning, replacing, or selling your phone, it’s essential to disable the activation lock. Without removing it, the phone cannot be used by anyone else.

If you recently changed your Google account password, the phone might lock for 72 hours. You’ll see a message saying, “Please sign in using one of the owner’s accounts for this device.” You’ll need to wait 72 hours before resetting the phone.
