Activate using your existing Ting number

New phone or old phone? Activate it with a Ting SIM card or eSIM!

Whether you're switching phones or upgrading, here's how to make the most of your Ting SIM card or a new eSIM.

If you're activating a new phone, set up your phone before you begin.

Using an existing physical SIM card

  1. Remove the current SIM from your current phone.
  2. Insert it into your new phone.

That’s it! Your phone is now ready to roll.

Inserting your new SIM card

  1. Locate your phone's SIM tray.
  2. Use a SIM-eject tool or a paperclip to gently push into the hole next to the tray.
  3. Slide the tray out, insert your SIM, and push it back in.

Switching from a physical SIM to an eSIM?

1. Log in to your Ting account‍

Head to the Ting dashboard and sign in with your credentials.

2. Go to Device Settings

Navigate to Device Settings in your account and select Activate a device.

3. Enter your phone’s IMEI

Dial *#06# on your phone to find your IMEI, then enter it into the field and click Check.

4. Get your eSIM

Select Get an eSIM then Continue.

5. Check your coverage

Confirm your coverage address and update if necessary. Click Continue to plan selection.

6. Move your number

Select Move a number. From the dropdown menu, choose the number you want to transfer. Click Continue to billing.

7. Update billing information

Review and update your billing details if needed, then select Review my order.

8. Confirm your activation

Review the activation summary. If all looks good, click Activate.

9. Activate your eSIM

  • Your eSIM may download automatically on your device– Check for a push notification.
  • Check your email for a QR code. Follow the steps in the email to scan the QR code and complete your eSIM setup.

10. Complete setup on your phone

Follow the prompts on your device to finalize activation.

Moving from an eSIM to a physical SIM?

1. Log in to your Ting account‍

Head to the Ting dashboard and sign in with your credentials.

2. Go to Device Settings

Navigate to Device Settings in your account and select Activate a device.

3. Enter your phone’s IMEI

Dial *#06# on your phone to find your IMEI, then enter it into the field and click Check.

4. Check your SIM card

Already have a Ting SIM? Select I already have a Ting SIM then Continue.

Need a new SIM? Order a new SIM by selecting Physical SIM card.

5. Check your coverage

Confirm your coverage address and update if necessary. Click Continue to plan selection.

6. Move your number

Select Move a number. From the dropdown menu, choose the number you want to transfer. Click Continue to billing.

7. Update billing information

Review and update your billing details if needed, then select Review my order.

8. Confirm your activation

Review the activation summary. If all looks good, click Activate.

10. You're all set!

Your device is active on Ting!
