Is there a service outage in my area?

Service outages can be frustrating. At Ting, we want to minimize any outage impact on our customers. To get you back online as soon as possible, we need to identify the cause of the outage. Outages can caused by many factors including, but not limited to:

  • Network disruptionsoften caused by problems affecting the physical infrastructure, caused by things like natural disasters like storms or earthquakes, power outages, or damaged cables
  • Maintenanceplanned maintenance to the physical infrastructure or system upgrades may temporarily affect your service
  • Technical issuesequipment or software malfunctions, server errors, or software bugs that affect internet service

Note on maintenance outages

Ting will communicate via email if planned maintenance is upcoming in your area.

How can I tell if there is a service outage in my area?

Go to tinginternetstatus.com. We monitor all Ting services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the event of a service disruption, we'll post information here to keep you informed of the current status.

Note

Current outage information will be displayed at the top of the webpage.

Navigate to your region to see if there are any reported outages. Green lines generally indicate no service downtime reported for the area, while red lines indicate there has been/is some downtime.

Each line represents one day. To see more details, you can hover over the day to see more information:

Clicking on a line will bring up more details about specific Ting towns within your region. 

Signing up for outage alerts

Why subscribe to updates from Ting Internet Status?

We highly recommend signing up for updates from Ting Internet Outages. This ensures you receive real-time communications on the status of any outage and repairs to service in your area. No need to call in -- you can choose to get alerts right to your email or phone!

Subscribing to updates only signs you up for outage alerts.

To subscribe, go to tinginternetstatus.com. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click the a button that reads "SUBSCRIBE TO UPDATES".

From here, you can click the different icons at the top to subscribe to alerts via:

  • Email
  • Text Message (SMS)
  • Slack
  • RSS feed

Email Updates

Get email notifications whenever Ting Internet creates, updates, or resolves an incident.

  1. Enter your Email Address.
  2. Click " Subscribe via Email"
  3. From here, you can select the individual components to get notifications about when they are affected in an incident or maintenance.
    • You're in control of your notifications -- choose as many (or as few) as you'd like notifications for by checking (or unchecking) the boxes.
    • To speed up the process, you can click the blue "Unselect all" link next to the word and then only check the boxes next to the cities or Ting services you would like to be notified about.
  4. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
  5. You will receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription.
  6. Confirm your subscription in order to receive notifications.

 

Text Updates

Get text notifications whenever Ting Internet creates or resolves an incident.

  1. Select the appropriate County code.
  2. Enter your phone number.
  3. Click " Subscribe via Text Message"
  4. From here, you can select the individual components to get notifications about when they are affected in an incident or maintenance.
    • You're in control of your notifications -- choose as many (or as few) as you'd like notifications for by checking (or unchecking) the boxes.
    • To speed up the process, you can click the blue "Unselect all" link next to the word and then only check the boxes next to the cities or Ting services you would like to be notified about.
  5. Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
  6. You will receive a text message asking you to confirm your subscription.
  7. Confirm your subscription in order to receive notifications.

 

My service is out, but there's no outage reported in my area

Troubleshoot hardware

If you are experiencing an issue with your internet connection, and there is no outage reported in your area, then there may be an issue with your equipment. Our Troubleshoot your Ting Fiber connection help article will walk you through the steps to ensure all your hardware is set up appropriately.

Payment failure

There are times when your payment may not go through. Usually, when this happens, it's because the card on file was compromised or expired -- we know it's not easy to remember every single company tied to each card! Thankfully, it's pretty easy to fix.

New Ting Platform Accounts

More detailed instructions can be found in the Managing your account in the New Ting Platform help article. 

  1. Please log in at Ting.com/account to get things updated

  2. Navigate to "Account Settings" on that blue bar on the side

  3. Under the "Payment Method" section, click the Update payment method link to get things changed over (it will automatically retry the payment once updated)

  2. Navigate to "Account Settings" on that blue bar on the side

Cannot determine the cause of service outage

If you still do not have an internet connection and have checked there is no outage in your area, your payment information is up-to-date, and you've attempted to troubleshoot your Ting Fiber connection -- don't hesitate to get in touch with us so we can assist you.
