How to transfer your number to Ting

Ready to bring your existing number to Ting?

Here’s everything you need to know to make it happen.

What you’ll need

  • A Ting SIM card.
  • A compatible phone or an eSIM-capable device.
  • Your porting details:
    • Account Number from your current carrier.
    • Porting PIN (provided by your current carrier).
    • The account name and address on file with your current carrier.
    • If you're activating a new phone, set up your phone before you begin.

Activating your number on Ting

1. Start on Ting.com.

  • Navigate to the Products in the menu bar and select Mobile.
  • Select Get Unlimited Combo.

2. Sign in or create an account.

  • New to Ting? Enter your information and click Create an account.
  • Already have a Ting account? Click Sign in and log in.

3. Select Bring a phone.

  • Select Bring a phone. Have it handy to check compatibility in the next step.

4. Check your phone’s compatibility.

  • Enter your phone’s IMEI (dial *#06# on your phone to find it, or look on the box it came in). Select Check.

5. Get a SIM or check your SIM card.

  • If you don’t have a SIM, click Get a SIM to order one.
  • Already have a Ting SIM? Select Check SIM and enter your SIM number (starts with 89).
  • Prefer an eSIM? Choose Get an eSIM.

6. Verify coverage.

  • Enter your home address to confirm Ting service is available in your area. Select Next.

7. Choose your plan.

  • If you’re a Ting Internet customer or pre-order customer, you qualify for the $10 bundle plan.
  • If you live in a Ting Town without Ting Internet, choose the $25 plan.‍
  • Interested in Ting Internet? Call us at 1-855-846-4626 to get started.

8. Select Bring a number

  • Enter the phone number that you are bringing to Ting. Select Next.

9. Enter your billing information.

  • This will bet the card we use for automatic payments. Once your payment information is entered, click Continue.

10. Enter your porting information.

  • Provide your account name, account number, porting PIN, and address from your current carrier. When the information is entered, click Next.

11. Review and confirm.

  • Double-check your details, agree to the terms of service and click Next to initiate the port. If any of your details need to be changed, select Edit next to the information or Edit your porting info.

12. Complete your eSIM activation (if applicable).

  • If you’re activating with eSIM, wait until your port completes.
  • Check your email for a QR code and instructions. Complete your activation by scanning the code and follow the prompts to finish activation.

What happens next?

Once your port request is submitted, you’ll receive an email confirmation. If there’s an issue with your porting details, we’ll contact you so you can update your information in your Ting account.
